I had decided to keep my pen zipped this time. I have been overwhelmed by the politics of ignorance, business of science and cacophony of Kangs.
Yet if I do keep quiet I would not do justice to the few hundred people who eagerly wait to hear my 2 cents each time.
We are banking on justifiable lack of longevity of vaccine derived immunity against CoVid by boosters after boosters- completely oblivious of the basics of immunology.
Our immune system needs to grow amongst thousands of natural pathogens to prime and prepare itself for the unknown. We have deprived a generation of children to develop a competent immune system by locking them up indoors. Making them more vulnerable to the next attack.
Omicron is a one time gift from nature to boost our immune system to the pathogen which is no longer novel. It has exposed the frailty of the concept of
vaccination amongst pandemic and yet given an opportunity to accept the limitations of our knowledge.
All the scare mongering has to end. If we can live with RSV, Parainfluenza, Influenza, Rhinovirus, Bocavirus and many such without stopping our lives- despite these viruses killing young and old and Immuno compromised- why try to sell more and more vaccines against a lesser strain of COVID.
I know there are 32 vaccines, monoclonals and antivirals in the pipeline. But no vaccine is better than a ‘ Live attenuated Virus’.
The virus will mutate to more and less virulent strains periodically. Let the lesser strain dominate the scene now without paranoid attempts at vaccination, which might do more harm than good. I might be wrong at the end of it but I am banking on whatever little understanding I have of nature.
